ISIS Promises To ‘Conquer Rome, By Allah’s Permission’

The South is pushing their luck with the North.

The Islamic State terror group released a video on Sunday showing the Islamic jihadis beheading 21 Egyptian Christians who were previously kidnapped in Libya.

“All praise is due to Allah the strong and mighty,” said an ISIS jihadist dressed in military fatigues in American-accented English. “And may blessings and peace be upon the ones sent by the sword as a mercy to all the worlds,” he added.

The masked ISIS member continues:

Oh people, recently you have seen us on the hills of Al-Sham and Dabiq’s plain, chopping off the heads that have been carrying the cross for a long time, and today, we are on the south of Rome, on the land of Islam, Libya, sending another message.

All crusaders: safety for you will be only wishes especially if you are fighting us all together. Therefore we will fight you all together. The sea you have hidden Sheikh Osama bin Laden’s body in, we swear to Allah we will mix it with your blood.

After the ISIS leader finishes speaking, his fellow terrorists then commence the beheading of the 21 Egyptian Christians. “And we will conquer Rome, by Allah’s permission, the promise of our Prophet, peace be upon him,” The militant leader says after his comrades slaughter the Christian hostages.

ISIS Trying to Fulfill “Prophecies”

ISIS keeps surprising the world and its actions do indeed seem to make no sense or are self-destructive.

So what is going on here?

A key window into understanding ISIS is its English language “in-flight magazine” Dabiq. Last week the seventh issue of Dabiq was released, and a close reading of it helps explains ISIS’ world view.

The mistake some make when viewing ISIS is to see it as a rational actor. Instead, as the magazine documents, its ideology is that of an apocalyptic cult that believes that we are living in the end times and that ISIS’ actions are hastening the moment when this will happen.

The name of the Dabiq magazine itself helps us understand ISIS’ worldview. The Syrian town of Dabiq is where the Prophet Mohammed is supposed to have predicted that the armies of Islam and “Rome” would meet for the final battle that will precede the end of time and the triumph of true Islam.

In the recent issue of Dabiq it states: “As the world progresses towards al-Malhamah al-Kubrā, (‘the Great Battle‘ to be held at Dabiq) the option to stand on the sidelines as a mere observer is being lost.” In other words, in its logic, you are either on the side of ISIS or you are on the side of the Crusaders and infidels.

When American aid worker Peter Kassig was murdered by ISIS in November, “Jihadi John” — the masked British murderer who has appeared in so many ISIS videos — said of Kassig: “We bury the first crusader in Dabiq, eagerly waiting for the rest of your armies to arrive.”

In other words, ISIS wants a Western ground force to invade Syria, as that will confirm the prophecy about Dabiq.

But for ISIS, the Dabiq prophecy is deadly serious. Members of ISIS believe that they are the vanguard fighting a religious war, which Allah has determined will be won by the forces of true Islam.

ISIS members devoutly believe that they are fighting in a cosmic war in which they are on the side of good, which allows them to kill anyone they perceive to be standing in their way with no compunction. This is, of course, a serious delusion, but serious it is.

What Can Italy Do About an ISIS Invasion From Libya

When the Beast power forms and the False Prophet rises these things will not present the same issue…prompting the question if situations like this will accelerate their formation.

As ISIS makes inroads into Libya, officials in Rome are panicking about an Islamic State just across the sea—but have no idea how to combat the crisis.

Last weekend… Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi shuttered the Italian embassy in Tripoli and raised his fist with the threat of impending military action. Never mind that Italy has only 5,000 troops available that are even close to deployable, according to the defense ministry. Or that the military budget was cut by 40 percent two years ago, which has kept the acquisition of 90 F-35 fighter jets hanging in the balance and left the country combat-challenged to lead any mission—especially one against an enemy like the Islamic State.

… there is no question that there is a palpable tension in Italy over the ISIS threat—Libya is just 109 miles away from the island of Lampedusa and 300 miles from Sicily—made worse by a 64 percent increase in illegal migrant arrivals by sea since last year.

What is disturbing is that something is drastically changing in the migrant-shuttling business, which has led defense analysts to warn that Italy has never been so exposed to an attack…. The Office of Migration in Rome says there could be as many as half a million people in camps waiting to come to Italy and the unrest will push them out faster.

Game of Chicken Between Greece and EU Threatens Euro-Zone Integrity

A Greek exit from the Eurozone might have had devastating effects for the euro and other PIIGS nations years ago, but now the opposite may be true.  If Greece gets its way it could very possibly pave the way for the other financially strained countries to do the same, thus having a less dire effect on the EU and Eurozone members.

In his first appearance before his foreign counterparts, Greek Finance Minister Giannis Varoufakis initially triggered astonishment, which then gave way to mild annoyance and finally culminated in rage and indignation.

Varoufakis, a professor of economics, used his visit to the special summit of the Euro Group — which consists of euro-zone member state finance ministers — last Wednesday in Brussels to give a lecture. He spent half an hour talking about his view of the crisis and the “humanitarian catastrophe” in his country. But a concept for how he intends to tackle Greece’s gigantic debt load was not part of his presentation.

The response to his speech was unsurprising, with representatives of smaller countries, in particular, expressing their rage over the audacity of the newly elected Greek government‘s demand to renegotiate aid from its partner countries. “Your standard of living is higher than ours, and we pay for your aid,” the finance minister of one of the Baltic countries said angrily, while his counterpart from Slovenia described the event as “a total waste of time.” “I can’t take that to my parliament,” the Estonian envoy complained.

European Central Bank (ECB) President Mario Draghi was especially irate. “We can do nothing at all if you talk like that,” he said. If all you do is “constantly talk about insolvency,” he added, “even the healthy Greek banks will eventually be insolvent.”

But by the time Schäuble landed in Berlin, the compromise had already fallen apart. Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras had refused to agree with the terms and had ordered his finance minister back to Athens.

With each new day of the dispute between Tsipras and his financial backers, the likelihood grows that Greece will indeed stumble its way out of the euro. Both sides have dug in their heels.

Schäuble believes that Greece’s departure from the euro zone would be manageable. Even his counterparts from France and Italy, who have often expressed their sympathy for making concessions to Greece, want to remain tough. They fear that radical parties in their own countries could feel emboldened to demand similar concessions if Europe is too accommodating to the Greeks.

The financial world also seems more serene. “Greece remaining part of the euro zone would be the best solution for the country and the monetary union — but only if the Greek government returns to a path of reason,” says David Folkerts-Landau, chief economist at Deutsche Bank.

Netanyahu Urges Jews to Move to Israel

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday urged European Jews to move to Israel after a Jewish man was killed in an attack outside Copenhagen’s main synagogue.

“Israel is your home. We are preparing and calling for the absorption of mass immigration from Europe,” Netanyahu said in a statement, repeating a similar call after attacks by jihadists in Paris last month when four Jews were among the dead.

The Israeli prime minister said his government was to adopt a $45 million (39.5 million euro) plan “to encourage the absorption of immigrants from France, Belgium and Ukraine”.

“To the Jews of Europe and to the Jews of the world I say that Israel is waiting for you with open arms,” Netanyahu said.

2 Patients Die, 7 Infected, 179 Exposed To Superbug

CRE [carbapenem-resistant enterobacteriaceae] germs are resistant to almost all antibiotics and are more deadly than the more widely-known superbug MRSA.

California health officials found the majority of health care facilities do not perform CRE screenings as a prevention tool, even though this superbug is considered an urgent, growing public health concern around the country.

Washington State Judge Rules Against Florist Who Refused Gay Wedding

More anti-Christian actions will soon come upon the Church of God.

A judge in Washington state on Wednesday ruled that a florist who refused to sell flower arrangements for a gay couple’s wedding violated state anti-discrimination law, court records show.

Stutzman maintained that her Christian beliefs prevented her from selling flowers for the same-sex wedding, “because of (her) relationship with Jesus Christ,” according to court documents.

“Confirming the enactment of same-sex marriage, there would eventually be a direct and insoluble conflict between Stutzman’s religiously motivated conduct and the laws of the state of Washington,” Benton County Superior Court Judge Alexander Ekstrom said in his 60-page opinion.

“For over 135 years, the Supreme Court of the United States has held that laws may prohibit religiously motivated action, as opposed to belief,” Ekstrom added, according to a copy of the document published online by the Los Angeles Times.

Alliance Defending Freedom attorney Kristen Waggoner, who is representing Stutzman, said in a statement, “You put your home, your family business, and your life savings at risk by daring to defy a government mandate that forces you to promote views you believe are wrong.”
