Future Plan of God and the Fall Holy Days

God is working out a plan for the salvation of ALL mankind that has ever lived.  It is wonderfully spelled out in His Holy Days which abound with meaning for us!

Why the Fall for the last of the Holy Days? It is during the larger fall harvest depicting God working with all the rest of mankind.

Where are the Holy Days found listed in one place? Leviticus 23

Feast of Trumpets

“Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation” (Leviticus 23:24).

The Feast of Trumpets points to a time when God will bring this present evil age to an end and establish His rule and government over mankind.

What distinguishes God’s fourth festival, the Feast of Trumpets?

Why Trumpets? Why are trumpets blown?

It was/will be a means of gathering people and/or warning them of war or some impending danger. In Revelation the sounding of trumpets  warns of future disasters just as it previously did.

A bad time coming why?  Is there any good?  What?

Which events in God’s plan are directly connected to the sounding of a trumpet?

Revelation 11:15 “Then the seventh angel sounded [the last prophetic trumpet]: and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!’”

Revelation 19:11-16 His return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord”

Matthew 24:31 “And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other”

1 Corinthians 15:51-54 “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory’ ”

Day of Atonement

What does the word mean:

At one with God; reconciliation; getting along with God

What is one of the main reasons that we can’t get along with God?

Satan

What is going to happen to him on the fulfillment of this day?

Satan bound

When will God remove Satan’s influence?

Revelation 20:1-3 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

Why is this necessary?

2 Corinthians 4:4  whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Causes people to sin

1 John 5:19  We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

What do you think the world will be like without Satan?

With him out of the way everyone can better learn about the ways of God and we will see that in the meaning of the next Holy day

Feast of Tabernacles

Another name for the Feast of Tabernacles: Feast of Ingathering

The great harvest of humanity into His family.

Exodus 23:16  and the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors which you have sown in the field; and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labors from the field.

How is the festival that represents the sixth step in God’s plan to be observed?

What is God gathering in?

Everyone not just the Jews

Zechariah 14:16-19

What will it be like during Jesus’ 1,000-year reign on earth?

Isaiah 11:5-9 “Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, and faithfulness the belt of His waist. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea”

Last Great Day

All people who have ever died without hearing of Christ or learning God’s way of life are to be resurrected and given their opportunity to receive eternal life.

What is God’s seventh and last annual festival?

This will happen at the end of Christ’s 1,000-year reign on earth (Revelation 20:4)

Revelation 20:12-15  “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire”

Last Great Day and the receiving of God’s Spirit

John 7:37-39 “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, [which] those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified”
